The Departmental MA is designed to prepare students for continued advanced study in language, literature, and culture. Students who select this course of study will broaden and deepen their command of language, literature and culture with specific emphasis on the development of the critical skills necessary for advanced independent research. Students pursuing a Masters of Arts degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures under the Departmental MA must earn a minimum of 34 credits including a thesis or portfolio and pass written and oral comprehensive examinations.
