Why Study Chinese?

There are 1.3 billion people speak Chinese; that is ¼ of the world population.

China is becoming a superpower on the world stage. It provides opportunities for finance, business and other career opportunities.

So many things are made in China . Many American companies have manufacturing sites in China . Even if you work in the US , you might go to China on business.

China has 5000 years of culture and history. There is so much to learn about China .

Chinese characters are cool. It would be nice to know the Chinese tattoos on people.

A lot of Americans adopt Chinese girls. It would be nice to know the language to communicate with the adopted girls.

I need to take Chinese for my kung fu class.

Knowing Chinese I can order better Chinese food.

China has become a popular vacation destination.

Chinese sounds exotic!! It gets more bragging points than taking Spanish.

Only smart people would take Chinese as a second language.

The Chinese Club offers numerous activities each semester. We have participated in Northern Colorado Chinese language contest, CSU Homecoming Parade, Fort Collins First Night event and Chinese New Year Performance. Activities such as dragon dance, calligraphy, brush painting, paper cutting, cooking, Chinese games and karaoke are among the list.

Courses in Chinese

The Chinese program offers a minor in Chinese. Six credits of 300 level and six credits of 400 level classes are required to obtain a Chinese minor.
