Undergraduate program in Japanese

Tale of Genji

The CSU Japanese program is a solid, comprehensive 4-year Minor program. Program covers all aspects of the language with a strong focus on culture. Although Japanese language is categorized one of the most challenging languages for westerners to learn by Foreign Service, CSU Japanese program is designed in such a way in which students enjoy learning and strive for excellence. Courses may be intense and strenuous with many required assignments. However, students are willing to make great efforts to tackle every endeavor. Students also enjoy many extracurricular activities such as Japanese Film Nights, Culture Workshops, New Year’s celebration, and Friday afternoon free-conversation gatherings along with other Japan Club activities.

CSU students always place high in Colorado/Wyoming Japanese Speech contests and in three years in a row (2013-2015) CSU team won championship at Colorado Japan Cup Competition.
