Placement Exam
The AVANT placement test is an online assessment we use to place students in the correct class level. This placement test is available for Spanish, French, and German.
Who should take the placement exam?
- Recently admitted or currently enrolled student at CSU.
- Students having previous study or exposure to the relevant language.
Why do I need to take it?
- To help our department know where to place you in the appropriate language course at CSU.
- To have follow-up discussion with your Academic Success Coordinator or language coordinator if necessary.
Exam Instructions
- This placement test is available for Spanish, French, and German. For placement tests in other languages, please contact the department at cla-llc_help@colostate.edu
- To take the placement test, please fill out the form below.
- Please submit your CSU Student ID # as your Test Taker ID
Please Note: This exam does not provide credits for any courses, it is solely for placement. If you have AP, Seal of Biliteracy / AAPPL / STAMP, IB, or CLEP exam scores, please send your official scores to the Office of the Registrar.
