Biography

Professor Hirchi, Associate Professor of Arabic and French at Colorado State University, studied in Switzerland and France before completing his BA, MA and PhD at Indiana University and his MBA at Colorado State.  Dr. Hirchi teaches courses in Arabic language, Middle Eastern & North African Cinema, Arabic Language, Literature & Culture in Translation, Business French and French literature.  He developed CSU’s Arabic program and co-directed a major grant project to enhance International Studies and Arabic.  He was the recipient of a bi-regional Fulbright Grant to conduct research on the “Reconfigurations of Metropolitan Space in Jordanian and Moroccan Cinema.”  Professor Hirchi has led students on summer study abroad programs in Morocco and France.  He is a staunch supporter of international education and has been involved in campus activities that promote multiculturalism, diversity and inclusion.

Professor Hirchi has published on Maghrebian and French literature and cinema.
